Expedition 75 astronauts aboard the International Space Station started their week by preparing for an upcoming extravehicular activity scheduled for late October 2026. NASA and NASA ISS Station Report both reported that two crew members will conduct the extravehicular activity to install a roll-out solar array on the orbiting laboratory. [1][2][4]
Alongside spacewalk preparations, crew members carried out advanced biomedical research. According to NASA and NASA ISS Station Report, the science schedule focused on testing portable biological sampling techniques in microgravity and performing three-dimensional cell printing. [1][2]
Expedition 75 is the 75th long-duration expedition to the space station. The mission began on 26 July 2026 following the departure of Soyuz MS-28, when NASA astronaut Jessica Meir assumed command of the station. The expedition is scheduled to conclude when Soyuz MS-29 undocks on 1 April 2027. [4]
The long-duration expedition focuses on continuous scientific research across several disciplines, including biology, human physiology, physics, and materials science. Crew members also carry out routine maintenance and hardware upgrades to maintain the systems of the space station. [4]
