NASA and SpaceX are targeting no earlier than 1:05 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 7, for the undocking of the crewed Crew-12 mission from the International Space Station. The NASA ISS Station Report, NASA, and Starlust reported that the scheduled departure follows a review of weather and splashdown conditions off the coast of California. [1][4][5]
According to the NASA ISS Station Report, the departing crew includes NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrei Fedyaev. The four crew members will return to Earth aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft following the undocking procedures. [1][5]
Meir took over command of the International Space Station at the start of Expedition 75, which began when Soyuz MS-28 departed on July 26, 2026. Expedition 75 is a long-duration expedition focused on maintenance and scientific research in biology, human physiology, physics, and materials science, and is scheduled to conclude on April 1, 2027. In related space operations, SpaceX is preparing to launch military satellites using a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base, as reported by Edhat. [2]
