Two astronauts completed a seven hour and 11 minute spacewalk outside the International Space Station on Thursday, October 29, 2026. CollectSPACE.com reported that Expedition 75 flight engineers Anil Menon of NASA and Joshua Kutryk of the Canadian Space Agency conducted the uncrewed exterior maintenance mission. The outing began at 7:57 a.m. EDT and concluded at 3:08 p.m. EDT. [1]

During the extravehicular activity, the crew members installed a new solar array designed to extend the power capabilities of the orbiting laboratory, according to collectSPACE.com and Space. CollectSPACE.com reported that this spacewalk marked the 100th U.S. operating segment spacewalk conducted without a space shuttle docked at the station. [1][5]

CollectSPACE.com added that this mission was one of 285 total spacewalks executed to support the assembly and ongoing maintenance of the orbiting facility. The International Space Station operates in low Earth orbit as an orbital research station. It is managed by five international space agencies: NASA, Roscosmos, the European Space Agency, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, and the Canadian Space Agency. [1][7]
