Northrop Grumman's uncrewed Cygnus XL cargo spacecraft was released from the Canadarm2 robotic arm on October 9, 2026, at 12:44 p.m. EDT. The NASA ISS Station Report and Space both reported the release from the International Space Station. The detachment occurred from the Earth-facing port of the station's Unity module. [1][3]
At the precise moment of release, the International Space Station was flying approximately 260 miles above the Pacific Ocean, the NASA ISS Station Report stated. Space reported that the private cargo craft departed the orbiting laboratory following a six-month stay. [1][3]
The spacecraft completed the uncrewed CRS-24 resupply mission for NASA, as FTMQ Space reported earlier. That mission delivered more than 11,000 pounds of supplies and scientific cargo to the space station. [4]
