SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Tuesday, October 13, at 6:33 a.m. EDT, Spaceflight Now reported. The uncrewed Dragon spacecraft is executing the 35th Commercial Resupply Services cargo mission to the International Space Station for NASA. [4]

The spacecraft is carrying over 6,300 pounds of science experiments and supplies to the orbiting laboratory, according to Spaceflight Now. It is scheduled to dock to the space-facing port of the Harmony module on Thursday morning. The launch was also documented in eyewitness video footage shared on Facebook. [4][6][7]

The first stage booster, tail number B1096, completed its eighth flight and landed at Landing Zone 40 adjacent to the pad less than 7.5 minutes after liftoff, Spaceflight Now reported. [4]

The International Space Station operates in low Earth orbit through an international partnership between NASA, Roscosmos, ESA, JAXA, and the Canadian Space Agency. Canadian astronaut Joshua Kutryk is currently serving aboard the station, according to reports by CBC, CTV News, CityNews Winnipeg, The Globe and Mail, and Yahoo News Canada. [8][9][10][11][12][13]
