Czech aerospace company Spacemanic and Belgian optical specialist Simera Sense are collaborating to build a new dual-use satellite solution, SpaceNews reported on November 3, 2026. The partnership aims to provide imaging capabilities that can compete with larger and heavier traditional satellites. [1]
According to SpaceNews, the project integrates Simera Sense's xScape200 Dual-Use camera into Spacemanic's 16U CubeSat platform. The camera system features a compact 12U form factor with low size, weight, and power requirements. The integrated platform is designed to provide high-resolution imaging on a lightweight spacecraft for repeatable deployment and constellation growth. [1]
Spacemanic specializes in developing small satellites and associated hardware. The company's initial team formed in 2014 during the development of Slovakia's skCUBE satellite before relocating to Brno, Czechia. Supported by the European Space Agency, Spacemanic previously built Croatia's first satellite, CroCube, alongside several Czech and Slovak spacecraft. [4]
