The Korea AeroSpace Administration revealed candidate landing sites for two robotic lunar missions scheduled to launch in 2032, The Korea Times reported. The shortlist was announced during a recent academic symposium. The newly established space agency is searching for locations across the lunar surface for its upcoming missions. [1]

According to The Korea Times, the agency is evaluating 20 candidate zones for its flagship lunar lander mission. The candidate sites under consideration include regions such as the Lake of Death and Clavius crater. [1]

The Korea Times also reported that the Korea AeroSpace Administration is weighing nine potential landing zones for a separate precursor craft. This soft-landing demonstration vehicle will test operational capabilities ahead of the main lander. [1]

The selection of landing zones marks a shift toward operational lunar surface ambitions for South Korea. Both uncrewed robotic missions are planned to execute soft landings on the Moon in 2032. [1]
