Voyager Technologies lunar lander completes environmental tests at NASA facility
The uncrewed Griffin Mission One spacecraft passed environmental testing at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory ahead of a planned launch to the Moon later this year.

The uncrewed Griffin Mission One lander from Voyager Technologies has passed a series of critical environmental tests at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California. NASA, NASA Earth Observatory, and Phys.org all report that the spacecraft completed tests simulating space conditions to prepare for its lunar mission. [1][2][3]
According to NASA Earth Observatory, the environmental testing wrapped up in late September 2026 after nearly three months of evaluation. NASA and Phys.org report that the testing subjected the lander to the extreme vacuum and temperatures of space, along with intense vibration and acoustic noise levels representative of a rocket launch. [1][2][3]
The tests verify that the spacecraft can endure launch and transit to the lunar surface. NASA reports that the Griffin-1 spacecraft is scheduled to launch later this year on a SpaceX rocket as part of the Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative within the Moon Base program. [1][2][3]
In short
- Voyager Technologies' Griffin Mission One lander completed environmental testing at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
- Testing lasted nearly three months and concluded in late September 2026.
- The spacecraft simulated launch vibration, acoustic noise, space vacuum, and thermal conditions.
- Griffin-1 is expected to launch later this year on a SpaceX rocket.
