Technion researchers find evidence of solar storm like eruptions near black hole
Scientists have detected powerful magnetic outbursts near a supermassive black hole in galaxy NGC 3783 that mirror solar storms.

Technion researchers have uncovered evidence of outbursts similar to solar storms occurring near supermassive black holes, Phys.org reported. The team discovered this phenomenon near the supermassive black hole located in the galaxy NGC 3783. The findings were published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters. [1]
Solar storms are energetic eruptions of X-ray radiation that are accompanied by winds of charged particles ejected into space. According to Phys.org, the supermassive black holes where these magnetic outbursts occur can be a million times larger than the sun or more. [1]
A black hole is an astronomical body so compact that its gravitational pull prevents anything, including light, from escaping. Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass forms a black hole bounded by an event horizon. [2]
