SpaceX scheduled the launch of an uncrewed Falcon 9 rocket carrying 27 Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, Spaceflight Now reported. The Starlink 15-25 mission was set for liftoff at 5:28 p.m. PDT on October 12, 2026. AOL.com and the San Luis Obispo Tribune both reported that SpaceX planned two rocket launches in California that week. [1][2][5]
Spaceflight Now reported that the rocket will fly on a southerly trajectory along the California coast to reach an orbit inclined 70 degrees to the Equator. The first-stage booster, serial number B1088, was making its 20th flight. The booster was scheduled to land on the drone ship named Of Course I Still Love You nearly 8.5 minutes after liftoff. [1]
SpaceX manufactures and operates the Falcon 9 Block 5, a medium-lift launch vehicle powered by SpaceX Merlin engines that reuses its first stage. Rockets from the Falcon 9 family have flown over 700 times. [6][8]
The launch adds to the Starlink satellite constellation in low Earth orbit. On October 9, 2026, telecommunications operator Banglalink announced an agreement with SpaceX to provide Starlink Mobile direct-to-device connectivity to standard 4G smartphones in Bangladesh, SatNews reported. [4][9]
