ESA Astronaut Sophie Adenot Completes Three Spacewalks in Fifteen Days

European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot performed three extravehicular activities outside the International Space Station over a span of less than 15 days, ESA News and the European Space Agency reported. During her time outside the orbital laboratory, Adenot spent a total of 19 hours and 42 minutes conducting spacewalking operations. [1][2]

Adenot launched to the orbital laboratory in February 2026 on board the SpaceX Crew-12 mission as part of Expedition 74 and 75. During this long-duration mission, she became the first French woman to conduct a spacewalk. [3]

Adenot was born on July 5, 1982, in Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire, France. She holds the rank of colonel in the French Air and Space Force and became the first female helicopter test pilot in France in 2018 before joining the European Astronaut Corps as part of the 2022 selection group. [3][4]
