NASA will host a media teleconference on 15 October 2026 to showcase its technology contributions to the Martian Moons eXploration mission, according to reports from NASA News and The Daily Galaxy. The uncrewed mission is led by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. It is scheduled to launch on 19 October EDT from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan. [1][2]

The teleconference will take place at 4 p.m. EDT, NASA News reported. The uncrewed robotic probe aims to study the moons of Mars and return physical samples from Phobos back to Earth, as FTMQ Space reported earlier. NASA is providing specific scientific instruments and technology payload contributions to support the mission objectives. [1][2][8]

The agency operating as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is an independent arm of the United States federal government, established in 1958 to direct civilian space research and exploration. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the agency maintains ten field centers across the United States to manage its spaceflight programs and scientific endeavors. [5]

The upcoming mission will collect and deliver the first physical samples from the Martian moon Phobos, as FTMQ Space reported earlier. Scientists intend to use the returned material to explore the origin of the Martian moons and analyze their structural history. [1][8]
